As former Managing Director of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) from 1980 - 1990, Padraic is engaged in a wide range of commercial, community and public interest activities. Since 1990, he has taken a strong interest in indigenous enterprises chairing and holding non executive directorships of a diverse array of SMEs. A member of the council of the ESRI for many years, he is a Director of a number of financial services companies based in Ireland: Willis Risk Services (Ireland) Ltd; London Life & General Re-insurance Ltd, Dublin; Canada Life Reinsurance Ltd. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Dublin based Northside Area Development Partnership. His community interests include Chairman of the Enterprise Council of West Belfast & Greater Shankill and of the Employment Services Board for the same area as well as Chairman of Coolock Development Council, Dublin and of the Louth Economic Forum.
