| Dr. Daniel V. McCaughan is an experienced industrial executive with a long record of achievement in business leadership and technology. He has held many Board positions. He is widely published in technical and managerial subjects, has over 100 technical publications, book chapters, international conference presentations, and 20 patents. He was awarded the OBE, and elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Irish Academy of Engineering. He has served as President and COO for NASDAQ listed CDT, (Cambridge Display Technology), as Technical Director of GEC Marconi’s components group of companies, and as Chief Scientist of Nortel Technologies. He built and directed a new 200-staff development centre for STC/Nortel. He held executive and Board positions in the defense and telecommunications industries from 1981-2000. He is currently operating his own consultancy and investment company, McCaughan Associates, sits on boards of several private companies, and is working with Kernel Capital and a US Venture Funded group of companies, Trireme Systems. He has worked with Kernel Capital for a number of years and has conducted extensive due diligence on a number of our investee companies most notably Farran Technology, Chip Sensors Ltd and Intune Networks. |
